Life Lately: Finding Light When the World Feels Heavy

Hey boo!
Yes, you’re still my boo—even though I’ve taken a major break to lean into life a bit more and, of course, to figure some things out.
The world feels very heavy these days.
It seems like every day the news doesn’t feel good, and the vibration from that alone can pull you into a slumber. I’m slowly realizing that the more bad news I take in, the more it subconsciously plants a weird energy into my everyday life. One moment you feel fine, and the next—it all hits you like a bag of bricks.
So tell me, where is life taking you lately?
And trust me, it’s okay if you don’t even know. In this post, I want to share three things I’m leaning on to feel a little lighter when the world gets heavy—and how you can apply these practical tips to your everyday life:
1. Protect Your Energy with News Boundaries
The news is everywhere—on podcasts, in your timeline, even in your friends’ stories. And let’s be real, social media isn’t going anywhere. That’s why it’s so important to set boundaries around how much negative media you consume in a day. Try creating a specific “news check-in time” (like 10 minutes in the morning or evening) instead of scrolling endlessly. This way, you stay informed without carrying all that heavy energy into the rest of your day.
2. Start Small Daily Grounding Rituals
As I glow older (haha, don’t let that one go over your head 😏), daily rituals—routines, whatever you want to call them—have started to feed my soul in a deeper way. I’m actually on my third cycle of rereading The Alchemist. That book reminds me that my dreams aren’t crazy, and if I simply keep going, I’ll find my personal legend.
Try incorporating small, grounding habits that bring you back to the present moment: a five-minute walk outside, sipping tea without distractions, or journaling one good thing from your day. These simple practices can reset your energy when the world feels overwhelming.
3. Prioritize Connection Over Consumption
No matter how independent we think we are—or how annoyed we might get with people sometimes—the truth is, people need people. I realized I had to bring back the things that truly gave me energy and joy, and for me, that was connecting with you. (Yep, you—if you’re reading this, I mean you lol.)
When life feels heavy, reach out to someone who lifts your spirits. A quick FaceTime, voice note, or coffee date can do way more for your energy than another scroll through social media. Human connection is one of the best antidotes to collective heaviness.
That’s why we tap into some good, honey! 🌿✨
Remember: small shifts make a big difference. Protect your energy, ground yourself daily, and choose connection over endless consumption. Your light is needed, now more than ever. 💛
